Huh?

There has been quite a situation going on at the Ardsley Middle School over the past few days.  The School was evacuated because of a bomb threat and a discruptive student has been the cause. In this morning's local papers is the following:

"ARDSLEY -A student alleged to have been behind the threat that caused Ardsley Middle School to be evacuated will be placed in an alternative setting for at least the rest of the school year, district officials said yesterday"

The situation with this student has been going on for a while.  Placing this student in an alternative setting for the rest of school year???? what two days???

Anyway, my fellow bloggerover at Ardsley Today has been followng this entire thread so please visit him for more details.

ArdsleyToday.com

Some residents of Ardsley have started an online NewsLetter about the Village of Ardsley.  There is really good information about schools, they have posted the Agenda for the Zoning Board of Appeals, local news, what’s going on with famous residents who live in the Village of have graduated from the schools.  They are inviting the community to email them with news.

They join several of the communities around Westchester County where homeowners want information readily available for the community.

I have included this site in the left panel of this blog with a list of these sites around Westchester County, under Local Newspapers.

Squidoo Zip Code - Ardsley, New York

Squidoologo Something cool.  Called Squidoo Zip Code.  If you have a local event, or tag sale, or are opening a new business or have anything else that you would want to post on a Community Bulletin Board this is the place to do it.  Have a favorite local restaurant please post it.  This is a national site with a lot of Googel juice (meaning that consumers will find it and see your post).  The intent is to capture all the wonderful things about Ardsley that you want people to know about.  Help businesses by driving traffic to them.  It's a win-win.

Anything and everything about Ardsley.  Questions, please email me.

A Bit of Ardsley History

Incorporated in 1896, Ardsley would continue to grow at a steady pace, until a fire destroyed the village center in 1914. This led to the reconstruction of several buildings, and the establishment of a fire department in the former schoolhouse.

Two more population booms would follow, the first spanning the time between the end of the first World War and the beginning of the Depression, and the second following World War II. This second boom led to the eventual construction of several village schools, including Concord Road Elementary School (1952), Ardsley High School (1958), and Ardsley Middle School (1967).

The village was also greatly changed by the construction of the New York State Thruway in the late 1950s, which resulted in both the loss of the Ardsley station on the Putnam Division of the New York Central Railroad and the loss of much of the downtown business district.

Housing Market Facts

Since we are inundated by news reports about the housing market and a lot of the reports are pretty off the wall, the National Association of Realtors has put together a web site called Housing Market Facts to combate the reports and calm the buying public.  There is also a page about Ardsley demographics, homes for sale, schools, etc.

Facebook and Ardsley High School

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg (born May 14, 1984) is an American computer programmer and entrepreneur. As a Harvard College student he founded the online social networking website Facebook with the help of fellow Harvard student and computer science major Andrew McCollum as well as roommates Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.
